The University of Zurich (UZH) was founded in 1833 and is Switzerland’s largest university with over 26’000 students. Moreover, it belongs to Europe’s most prestigious research institutions. To date, twelve scholars from the University of Zurich have received the Nobel Prize including Albert Einstein (1921) and Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (1901).

The buildings of the seven faculties of the UZH are scattered all over the city. The ISPNE conference will take place at the City Campus, in the University’s main building. Situated at the top of Zurich’s old town, the building was founded in 1914 and has recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. In 1946 after the end of World War II, Winston Churchill held here his famous speech directed to the academic youth. He finished with the visionary words: “Therefore, I say to you: let Europa arise!”
